Arsenal defender, Laura Wienroither, will not play football for an extended period.
The club have confirmed that the Austrian international sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury, a knee rupture during the Champions League semi-final against Wolfsburg on Monday evening.
This is the fourth ACL injury the club has sustained this season.
Last month England skipper, Leah Williamson ruptured hers in a Women’s Super League match against Manchester United resulting in her having to withdraw from World Cup selection.
