Associate Professor (Fellow)
Mark Wells is a fellow of the UEA, as a former lecturer and course leader he still works with staff and students on special projects. Mark is a former BBC TV, Anglia TV and Eastern Daily Press journalist, reporter and news producer. He was a director of independent production company Broadsword Television and was the first director of EPIC (the East of England Production Innovation Centre) establishing it as a major production, enterprise and innovation hub in the East of England and bringing in major network productions. Before the EPIC appointment, he was MD of EV Production Ltd, and also the Research Director of Televirtual Ltd, a broadcasting and TV technology company which participated in many national and international broadcasting development and research projects with partners such as the BBC, ITV, Ofcom and Sky TV. He holds the post-graduate certificate of the National Council for the Training of Journalists, a Master of Arts degree in European Union Studies from the UEA, and is a Politics graduate of Liverpool University. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
