‘Baedekers guide to Britain’

We’re looking at what happened 81 years ago today, during WW2 when Norwich suffered extensive bomb damage.

The Nazi air force used a travel guide called ‘Baedekers guide to Britain’ to work out historical areas on Norwich to bomb.

Norwich became one of the targets of the so-called “Baedeker Blitz”. 

The raid of 27th April 1942 was the most severe hit to the city during the war.
