In January 2023, a group of indigenous Peruvian women flew over to the UK.
They showcased the work they have produced over the last few years, as part of the Women of Influence Project.
The project highlights the women that play a fundamental role in the preservation of biodiversity, ancestral knowledge, and the management and defence of Amazonian land and water.
Over the past two years, a research team has been working alongside a group of young indigenous women in the Peruvian Amazon region of Junín, seeking to understand and make visible the work that these women have undertaken as community members and future leaders.
