Eco Church is a project set up to reward churches for how they care for the environment through their worship and management of the church. Two Eco Churches in Norwich have recently raised awareness for the environment in two very different ways. As the COP26 Climate Change conference is taking place in Glasgow, Paris Maben-Hume went to find out what is happening in Norwich to make churches more eco-friendly.
Norwich Cathedral is a bronze award winning Eco Church and has been raising awareness about climate change during the Dippy the Diplodocus exhibition. Norwich was the last leg of Dippy’s UK tour and now returns home to the Natural History Museum in London. The Dean of Norwich, the Very Revd Jane Hedges, said: “We have been on such an amazing journey with Dippy over these last 16 weeks and it is brilliant that more than 234,000 people have been able to join us on this incredible adventure.” Jack Maclean went to find out more:
