Speaking on the Friday before the game, Luke told BBC Radio Suffolk “I’ve always looked up to my dad, so him being a Norwich fan was me just being a young boy wanting to be my dad.”

Luke admitted since he has been a professional footballer that he doesn’t follow Norwich anymore. “I can’t remember the last time I turned my phone on to check a Norwich line-up or score.”

In the interview he told Brenner Woolley that his dad Robert “is over the moon for me”.

Brenner Woolley said after his interview with Luke that “he was very intelligent, a genuinely nice kid and I warmed really well to him.”

Rob also went on to say: “We are incredibly proud of Luke and his achievements. He is an incredibly eloquent young man whose enthusiasm will be a breath of fresh air at Ipswich.”
