Pakistan’s military has been accused of trying to disrupt the democratic process by interfering with candidates in the recent General Election. Former cricket legend Imran Khan was elected to lead the country in July 2018 but according to Pakistan’s Independent Human Rights Commission the campaign was blighted by “blatant, aggressive and unabashed attempts to manipulate” the outcome. These include attempts at media censorship and candidate intimidation. UEA Journalism reporter Saad Sohail went to Larore to investigate, and managed to secure an interview with the former Prime Minister Shahid Abbasi:
