Environment secretary Michael Gove wants to change the way that farming subsidies work so that UK farmers are rewarded for sustainable food production methods. The current system is regulated by EU laws that grant subsidies to farmers based on the amount of land that they own. These changes come as a result of the UK’s decision to leave the EU. Isabel Shore spoke to Susan Harmer and other members of the farming community to gauge their perspective on this issue.
